20 week check-up

Well I just got back from my check up… doctor said my u/s was great and my baby is perfect in every way. He’s measuring a week ahead. My blood pressure is finally down to a “normal” number (I suspect it has to do with not working anymore!!) I have my next appointment on August 12th and he said that’s when we will discuss booking a GD test for me.

Oh, he also said that I need to rest more and go slower. I’ve been getting dizzy because I’m still not treating myself like I’m pregnant I guess… Crying or Very sad

I’ve gained a total of ZERO pounds… so tonight I splurged and had pizza and cake for dinner. Yummm!

His heart rate was 155bpm, and he was sucking his thumb and being cute during the whole scan. And the tech said she was 100% POSITIVE he’s a BOY…! :)

New Truck

Minus the water… this is what we bought this week. FINALLY I’m rid of the van!!!

It’s a quad cab and there is TONS of room for baby…. and Ashley, and another one if we so choose!

And to everyone who would judge us for getting a truck because of fuel prices… this has a variable engine that only runs on 4 cylinders, unless your driving it like a race car or towing something heavy… in which case it uses all 8 cylinders. So the way I drive… it’s the same as my crappy van was!!! :)  (my van was a V6… so this could work out better)

…. I’ll take real pictures of ours this weekend. It’s the same color, year, and model though.

things that bug me

So I have some things that have been bothering me.  A lot.  To the point that I sat on my step daughter’s bed this morning and cried because I was so angry/overwhelmed.

Wanna know what they are? Sure ya do… ;)

1. Having to work full time, and then come home and do EVERYTHING because DH’s job is “harder” than mine… oh, and be pregnant so I’m sick & tired all the time.  Guess what? I want to relax after work too! (of course, this one will get better in a couple weeks once I’m done work..but it would be nice to have HELP sometimes….)

2. Having people say that they are going to do something and then not even bother.  I mean… COME ON.  It is so fantastically rude to commit to do something… one small tiny thing… and then just bail.  And the excuse? None.  Just didn’t get around to doing it.

3. Booking my van in to get fixed every day for 3 weeks at the shop I work with… and EVERY DAY not having anything done.  I am beyond angry with this one.

4. Not having friends.  I have one friend…who is abused by her boyfriend now and isn’t “allowed” to see me.  But does she leave? noooo. of course not.  Even though her parents said that her and her 2 kids can stay with them.  Oh… and DH’s friends we used to hang out with?  Doesn’t happen anymore because he likes to sit in the corner and play computer games.

5. Trying to do nice things for people when they obviously don’t even care.  Fine.  I’m going to be mean and nasty the rest of this pregnancy, because no one seems to appreciate the hard work I put in to doing nice things for them…when I could just say “fuck it” and not do it at all.

Bah.  So basically… pregnant me hates people.  The End.

diaper bag… yay!

Guess what I got in the mail last night…. MY NEW DIAPER BAG!!  It’s a JJ Cole System Bag and I loooooooove it.  It has a nifty “diaper clutch” (for short trips) that also folds out into a changing mat…. !!

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY

So I’m 16 1/2 weeks. I’m nearly half way there. My baby ninja has been kicking up a storm all week. Has been staying more on my right side, but yesterday decided to check out what was on the left side of the uterus…. apparently it’s not as fun, because soon after he (I’m guess boy) was kicking my bladder on the right again…

I love love love all the kicks. Even when I get kicked in the bladder…it makes me feel like this baby is REAL and I’m actually going to get to bring this baby home from the hospital in November.

DSD is coming for the summer, and we’re picking her up in a couple weeks. I suppose that means I should get off my arse and do the stuff I wanted to do before she got here…. oh well. :)

I do miss seeing friends though. It seems like both mine and DH’s friends are all busy now that the weather is nice. I do understand that… but damn! It get’s boring! LOL

We’re going to my parent’s house tonight for dinner… so that will be nice.

….I’d like to add that I still can’t believe that after so many years of treatments, that I’m finally pregnant. It blows my mind.

baby names!

DH came in and woke me up at 11:30 last night before he went to work to tell me he decided on a boy name. So….. these are our baby names…can’t wait to find out which we’re having!

Baby Names - BabyNamey.com Name Badge Ticker

edit: I thought I would add a little more about the names we’ve chosen… they both have strong meaning to us. We would name a girl Lilly Ann after our mothers… Lilly for his (Lillian), and Ann for mine (it’s her middle name).

As for the boy name, Thor Michael… well that one is a bit more complicated.  There are many Michaels in both our families and we love the name.  Thor is the Norse God of Thunder (which is why DH loves the name), and is also the name of my Great Great Uncle who immigrated from Norway in 1905 and landed on Ellis Island.  Which is why I love the name. :)

i loooove my baby doctor!!

I had my first “real” prenatal appointment with the doc who will actually be doing the delivery.  I LOOOOVE HIM! He’s young (early 30’s) and I can actually relate to him!

He does everything on a laptop and he was so excited that I’m going out of town for my ultrasound (so I can find out the sex!) … and he had no problem writing the referral so that my medical would cover it! yay!!  And he was also very interested in the fact that this is a clomid baby… I guess I’m his first. *blush*

Baby’s heart rate was 150 today, and my uterus is already up PAST my belly button - oh my!!

My next appointment is after my ultrasound… I’ll be about 20 weeks.  YAY!!
